My name is Colin Sherwood; I am the Superintendent Minister of the Peterborough Methodist Circuit. My wife Diane and I arrived in the circuit in August 2025, and we are having fun getting acclimatised to our new surroundings.
My journey in the ministry started in Bristol in the mid 90s and since being ordained I have worked in Somerset, North Norfolk, and West Yorkshire. Since coming to Peterborough, I have been astonished at the distances travelled as we play our part in ministry within the Northampton Methodist District. Our circuit comprises of Churches around the city but also includes ministry in places such as Oundle in Northamptonshire, Crowland in Lincolnshire and Whittlesey and Yaxley who find themselves in the Fens.
My personal interests are varied, far too varied according to the person who moved us, from Radio Communication to Astronomy and Astrophotography to Clay Pigeon and Target Shooting, walking, making music and then some.
The Peterborough Circuit has many interesting things going on and we are looking forward to what comes next.
