Westgate New Church, formerly Westgate Church is a small City Centre church close to the Queensgate Shopping Centre and bus station. We are situated in new premises to the rear of the old church and are a partnership between the Methodist and United Reformed churches. Although a very small congregation of 15-20 persons, we are open and welcoming of newcomers, holding weekly Sunday worship services. Our worship is thoughtful but also joyous, an opportunity to come together to meet God. Worship is of traditional non-conformist style, Services are led by a minister or local (lay) preacher from either of our participating denominations.
We have developed a BoB (Back of Beyond) group - an open house Christian fellowship group, serving lunch and enjoying a range of activities throughout the day each Thursday. A Christian bookshop is at the front although not managed by us. A school outreach charity (CROPS) is operated from within the bookshop.
